Last week, many were stunned to learn that Modern Warfare 2 managed to place number 1 on Xbox Live though Halo: Reach was released that same week. What some didn’t know, however, is that Bungie’s swan song placed second because it was only out for a portion of the reporting period. This week, the playing field is level and Halo: Reach is No. 1.
Coming in second is Modern Warfare 2, third was Halo 3 and the fourth being Call of Duty: World at War — all shooters.

Reach has become the best selling Xbox 360 exclusive game, selling 4 million copies on one week. It’s also the fourth biggest game launch in the U.K. and Microsoft biggest game yet.
Bungie will no longer be at the helm, though, 343 Industries will takeover from here. What path will the franchise take? It’s a wait and see session now.

I do not think black ops can top REACH.
Call of Duty titles sell massively on the Xbox 360, I think MW2 sold millions more than many Halo titles, it will top Reach, albeit temporarily.
black ops will not selling as good as last year MW2.

I can’t believe Halo 3 is still in the top 5. I mean it has been what 3 years and it is still in the top 5. I know a lot of people who are hardcore halo fans and are playing Halo 3 instead of Halo Reach because of they have made the MP seem more casual. It feels like a halo version of COD. People camp, and if you thought grenades were bad in Halo 3 they are much worse in Reach. Also, the reticule bloom is stupid. You can shoot a 50 cal. sniper rifle while running, but you can’t shoot a DMR more that one without it being horrible inaccurate. It is so stupid. I like the game, but I like Halo 3 better. Also, there is always that one guy who has 20 kills or more and the rest of the team camps and lets him do all the killing.
don’t get me wrong, I like the game a lot, but it does not seem as good as Halo 3. I know people complained about the fact there was no recoil, but you are a 7 ft. super soldier wearing a 1 ton bio suit. I think you can handle the recoil of a gun.
I know what you mean…. Especially with the guys who have all the kills and everyone else play chicken — it’s frustrating

i hope M$ go into halo 4 with a fresh reboot mind, it would be nice to see them swap and change a few things around.
keep the openness and the armour abilities, there the best part about halo.
but add maybe a half decent story, differing AI, and maybe some vehicular combat.
i dunno, im just bored of it!

Indeed. 4 Million copies in one week is nothing to laugh at. Uncharted 2 has sold about 4 million but that’s since it came out! Give Jack his jacket — that’s just impressive.

yeah, the story was not that good. the story in the first game was great, but it just went downhill when they started focusing on MP. Also, I just read an article that Gears of War 3 has be delaying to fall of 2011.
heres the article. at the end they try to think why the release date is getting changed and I think it is because MS has no hardcore exclusives for next fall.

yeah, MS is really starting to lose it. They are so insecure that they have to delay their game by 5 months because they probably do not have an exclusive that they think will sell, or they do not have one at all.
