Capcom has used the MT Framework 2.0 engine on many of its recent titles, including Super Street Fighter IV, Lost Planet 2, and the upcoming Marvel vs. Capcom 3. The Devil May Cry reboot, however, will be powered by Epic’s Unreal Engine 3.
That’s according to Ninja Theory, making it known to users on its official forums.
It’s not the first for a Capcom title, though. Dark Void used Unreal 3 and so will CyberConnect2′s Japanese hack-n-slash, Asura’s Wrath.

that is not good, unreal engine and the ps3 really do not work good together.
ahhh, the news for this keeps getting worse and worse!
why do developers keep using this, UE3 is such a old crappy engine!
batman AA used UE3.5 it uses quite a few features of the UE4 engine which is for next gen, and even that pales in comparison to some of this gens MP engines!
come on devs stop being lazy pricks, get off your fat a$$es and stop using that out dated piece of crap!
hate to say this, but this is shaping up to be the disappointment of the generation!
worse than RE5!
only capcom could accomplish that, only capcom could turn gold into shit!
LOL at you both — harsh words.
what was wrong with MT framework 2?
its a much more powerful ending than UE3, and unlike UE3 it actually performs equally on both systems.
50 bucks says because capcom does not want to outsource it, but out of all the open engines they could of used they choose the worse one!
Yep, agreed. They’re trying to save cash, too.
there doing the opposite, they could of used their engine for free but since there using the UE3 engine they have to pay epic.
