Herman Hulst: Killzone 3 Is “Lush” (Update)

by Ernice Gilbert on September 27th, 2010, under Guerrilla Games, Hot, News, Sony

UPDATE: Video added below the break.

Original Story: killzone 3 has seen many changes since Killzone 2 came out, and Guerrilla Games assures us that all those changes make for a better game. “You’re going to go through jungles, nuclear wastelands, ice, arctic seas, [and] even into space,” producer Steven Ter Heide said.

Killzone 3′s also “lush”.

“It’s not going to be gritty all the time,” Guerrilla Games managing director, Herman Hulst told MSNBC, “it’s also lush — there’s a lot of variations here.”

The studio boss also spoke on how they’re making the game more accessible to other players by implementing peripherals like PS Move.

“I think we’re lowering the threshold a little bit — we’re broadening the accessibility of it, that’s where PlayStation Move comes in,” he continued.

According to Herman Hulst, 3D gives the player a complete experience, compared to traditional viewing. To bring his point across, the studio boss likened the situation to listening to music in mono versus stereo.

“It doesn’t necessarily change the lyrics in mono, but once you’re used to the stereo sound, it’s a lot richer,” he concluded.

Killzone 3 comes available on February 22nd exclusively for the PS3.

its going to be more open and allot of variations, so is that why they have been showing off the same dam level ever since the game was announced!?
i mean come on we have seen more levels of infamous 2, a game thats not releasing till months after KZ3!
ok, the games more open and more varied, so enough talky talky AND SHOW US!
from what i have seen KZ3 is exactly the same as KZ2 but with snow and jetpacks.
its more open, than why not show us?
these guys love to flap their mouths, there almost as bad as crytek but at least they back their words up with gameplay, with proof.
they dont say something and not prove it.
the closed corridoor feel KZ2 had was one of my main gripes with the game, so if they have fixed it great!
but show us, no ones going to believe you just because you said it.
as the saying goes, talk is cheap!

Talk is cheap indeed. You’ll see before launch, I’m sure.

  6. Tue, 28th Sep 2010 at 8:58 am

    will see.
they keep talking about all these new features they have added into the game, but really all they have shown us thats new is jetpacks and snow.
o, what happened to those new weapons they were adding?
we saw the multi rocket launcher and thats about it.
i know the games not out till feb so theres heaps of time to show off other things, but them being so secretive and showing off the same level for almost a year now is certainly not filling me with confidence!

LOL, I know what you mean. Give them till the end of the year, and January…I’m sure more will start to surface
