NPD Software Sales Results For August 2010 – MADDEN NFL 11 Holds Steady

The NPD software numbers are in, and once there’s a football game released with the name Madden on it in America, everything else must take a backseat.

The game ruled the charts on both the Xbox 360 and the PS3 with sales of 920.8K and 893.6K respectively. Other titles like Super Mario Galaxy 2 made the ranks, obviously, and Mafia II, with the latter selling a measly 121.6K on the Xbox 360.

Here’s the full quencher:

MADDEN NFL 11 360 EA 920.8K

MADDEN NFL 11 PS3 EA 893.6K

SUPER MARIO GALAXY 2 Wii 124.6K

MAFIA II* 360 TAKE-TWO 121.6K

NEW SUPER MARIO BROS DS 110.4K

Not an extremely strong month for the industry in the software sales department as you can see. But hey, you can’t win them all; it’s just the nature of business. Either ways, with Halo incoming next month, and popular shooters in the months following, the industry should continue to realize growth.
