why not?
i think the developer from people can fly put it perfectly today in their interview with CVG.
CVG asked how do you make a good game, seperate it from the comp and make people buy it.
he responded you need to bring something different, something new people have not seen before, be it gameplay wise, feature wise, visual design wise, whatever you just need to separate your self from the competition.
hit the mickey on the head with that one!
halo reach looks like the complete opposite of that, it looks like ODST but with larger levels, that is not bringing something new to the series.
sure it would piss some people off but so what?
you cant just keep a game the same from 1 all the way to 10 you have to constantly bring in new features and change the gameplay.
like R&C ACIT, instead of having ratchet and clank insomniac split them up, they added those time puzzels, they added a few new things to ratchet too.
you cant just have a recipe for a game, and repeat it sequel after sequel after sequel, you have to tweak it, add to it, make it better.
you dont scrap everything, im not asking them to reinvent the wheel here, all im asking is to add to it, expand on it, have something different to make it feel like a sequel and not like a expansion pack.
look at uncharted 2 its sooooooooo much different from the original, yet its one of the industries most loved games!
im positive reach would have 10 times the impact if bungie went back and changed a few things, added a few things, instead of keeping everything the same just making it bigger, thats not a sequel thats a expansion pack.

I understand where you're coming from, but do you realize it'd be really troublesome if Bungie had gone ahead and changed everything? You just don't shock people like that with games

but thats the problem, its bigger and better.
i did not want bigger and better, i wanted something new.
how many times can you play the same thing?
thats my problem with halo there almost exactly the same.
theres basically no innovation from 2 to 3 to ODST, they basically feel like expansion packs to each other.

No, I think Bungie's really outdone themselves with this one. Everything's bigger, better, the story's intriguing and the all new forge mode is basically littleBigPlanet in a shooter's world.

i had no doubt id be getting these reviews, after all ODST did get mainly 9s.
im starting to think reviewers would give a halo game a 9 just for the sake of it no matter how bad it is!
i really want this to be the game its hyped up to be, i really want it to be a worthy addition to the halo series and be a worthy follow up to the great combat evolved.
but, sadly from what i have seen its looking like a extended version of 3.

Yeah, i think the single player will be the best yet. Also, the multiplayer will be good too.
