For Devil May Cry 5, A “Western Touch”

That’s right, sales is everything these days, and to sell more copies to the western audience, Capcom’s Keiji Inafune said the game will receive a “western touch” to attract all the hack-n-slash people.

Did you realize the exec just confirmed the game’s existence? Cool beans.

“Devil May Cry 5 is a game that, when started development, this will change a lot in relation to the above,” Inafune said speaking to 3DJuegos (via Connected Consoles).

“The reason is that, despite the franchise has some very loyal followers, their sales are not particularly high, especially overseas.”

He added: “For this reason, it is likely that in the fifth chapter will incorporate certain western touch to make it more attractive to American and European players.”

I hope they don’t westernize the game too much. I think developers need to realize that gamers purchase games not based on who developed them or where, but rather the unique elements in said games that appeal to them.

I don’t think it’s really about “westernizing” games at all, but we’ll see.
