Activision Kicks Sony To The Curb; No PS3 Logo In Black Ops Ads

Black Ops ads will bombard television sets and gaming websites all over the globe. When this starts happening, take a closer look and search hard for the PS3 logo and I guarantee you it won’t be there.

Smart move by Microsoft, because if you’re not well informed, you’d think Call of Duty: Black Ops was an Xbox 360 exclusive.

This is in the UK, however, so we’ll have to see what happens in the US.

UK games industry leader MCV came through the post and just like last year with Modern Warfare 2, there was no mention of Sony on a Black Ops ad.

The weekly MCV magazine came with a giant wrap proudly showing off the games release date with Xbox Live, 360, Treyarch and Activision branding. No PS3.

According to CVG, The Kerrang! ad promotes the ‘network première’ of the Black Ops trailer on ITV this Friday.

It will air during half-time of the England vs. Bulgaria international football match.

So who’s behind this? Microsoft you say? You’re probably right.

It’s nothing new, though, last EA and Sony’s teamed up on games such as FIFA 11 and Need For Speed, but this is taking things to an all new level. Obviously, Microsoft and Activision love making love.

There’s even a rumor circulation the internet that claims a 360-exclusive Black Ops public beta is on the way. At this year’s E3, it was announced that Xbox 360 will receive time exclusive Black Ops DLC.

lol, like it matters. Everyone knows it is multi-platform. I think it is funny that the most hated company in gaming, Activision, is working closely with the rising most hated company, Microsoft. In my opinion Sony has a better deal with EA. EA consistently releases more high quality games with more range in genres. Also, the exclusive content for Sony from EA is truly exclusive, not timed. The exclusive stuff for Black Ops for xbox is timed and Sony will get it also, they said that at the end of E3; just like MW2, it is timed multiplayer map packs. So, I think Sony is getting the better end of the stick.

this is exactly what is wrong with M$ this gen, and is exactly why they will loose this gen.
people buy systems for GAMES not for timed exclusive DLC!
M$ could be putting all the money there throwing into this timed DLC crap towards first party studios.

This is where Microsoft proves it’s insanity. I mean we all know that this game will sell more on the 360 so why invest money here when you could be strengthening your much needed first party studious. It’s also a given that this will sell well on the PS3 and Sony isn’t losing any money in the process.

Don’t know what’s going on inside MS, I think they’ve got too much cash and don’t know what to do with it
