For the many PC gamers who mourned the exclusion of modding in Modern Warfare 2, Treyarch’s got some exciting news for you: In their upcoming shooter, modding tools will be made available.
Go wild.
This according to a post made by one of the developer’s staffers on the game’s forum.
“We plan to open the game up for modding sometime post-launch,” the staffer said.
“We do not know yet to what extent you will be able to mod the game. There are some purely technical issues related to engine and internal tool enhancements that do not easily fit the modtools paradigm.
We have looked at it close enough to see that it is non-trivial and we will have to pick it up again post-launch. Right now we are completely focused on finishing the game.
And, dev console: confirmed.”
I’m sure the PC community’s delighted to hear such news. No Modern Warfare 2 repeat, after all.
Infinity Ward didn’t include dedicated servers, nor modding in their game released last year, a decision that enraged PC gamers.

it really pisses me off when devs dont have a dev console or keyboard function keys support in there PC games!
its so stupid, its something you need for the PC, its like making a racing game but not having wheel support!
