PSP2 rumors have been permeating the web recently, with anonymous sources claiming the new handheld will feature touch sensitive controls.
Sony knows that any talk of a PSP2, especially if said talk keeps growing, can drastically hurt sales of the models already out. So to stop the bleeding, the giant said its current PSP models still have life in them.
“We don’t have anything to announce and nor are we giving anything away if we say we’re always looking at the future as well,” Sony U.K.’s Michael Denny told GI.biz. “For now, we’re still concentrating on the PSP as a very attractive proposition.”
He continued: “It’s natural that in the lifecycle of a platform as the cost comes down they do skew younger and we’re having a lot of success with the more child-friendly products on the PSP and it’s certainly a great proposition to buy in on, and the PSP has life left in it yet.”
And there you have it. The man basically said that current PSP models will still be around for a few more years. But that doesn’t mean Sony are not forging something in the east.
Just remember, wherever there’s smoke, there’s indeed fire.

there is?
so is that why i have not bought a game for my PSP since resistance retribution!?
Lol.
when third party companies are supporting a platform more than its creator thats when you know your really in trouble!
counting every single PSP game, theres probably only 6 i would consider must haves.
syphon filter logans shadow, syphon filter broken mirror, resistance retribution, god of war chains of olympus, assassins creed bloodlines and LBP.
there is heaps of PSP games, but really i could count the must plays on 2 hands!
kinda like the 360.
