Video Thirst: On Fox News, Woman Lashes Out On EA’s Medal Of Honor Taliban Controversy

by Ernice Gilbert on August 15th, 2010, under Dice, EA, Hot, News

Controversy sells. By now, we all should know that. Last year, the folks at Fox News placed Modern Warfare 2 in the spotlight for the it’s “No Russian” scene, causing many to take notice. The game went on to become one of the best selling titles, ever.

One year later, the news outlet has another title in its sight: EA’s Medal of Honor Reboot.

This time, however, it’s not Fox News doing the bashing, it’s a mother who lost her son in the Afghanistan war and has started an all out campaign, it seems, to stop the production of violent games.

Although I do sympathize with the woman on the death of her son, hers, though, is a losing battle.

Also, why not attack the so many movies that portray war in a more brutal and realistic way than games ever will? I just don’t get it.

Listen to her for yourself:

Medal of Honor will release in October for PS3, 360 and PC.

Thanks, Examiner.

its because these idiots argue 1 games are for kids EVEN THOUGH THE RATING ON THE BOX SAYS DIFFERENT! and 2 they argue violent games desensitizes people to violent acts which is a hole load of horse crap!
i think its actually the other way around, i use to watch movies like hostel and some gory crap like that and was fine with it.
but ever since i played that scene in heavy rain where ethan cut his finger off, ever since i played that scene things like hostel make me really squeamish!
i was wondering how long it would take for these idiots to find out MoH is set in Afghanistan, now let the shitstorm commence!

why cant people just mind their own business?
dont like violent games, fine dont play them!
why do you have to spoil other peoples fun?
i hate motorcycles, i hate personalized number plates, i hate loud mufflers.
but do you see me going on national TV trying to spoil peoples fun?
nothing pisses me off more than people trying to dictate what i can and cant do.
