Crysis 2 Dated For March 2011

There’s a date for the game people are hailing as the best looking, ever.

Coming your way on March 22, it’ll release for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in the US and on the 25th in Europe.

The game was supposed to be released this autumn, however EA delayed it citing a packed holiday season.

Crytek relayed the news via twitter.

March’s not too far away, right?

I’ll be too busy playing Killzone 3 to even care.

That’s brutal… I’ll definitely be playing Killzone 3, too. But I’ll want to give Crysis 2 a shot….I’ve never played it.

meh, KZ3 releases mid feb so thats more than enough time between the 2!
ill be getting my new GPU next week, so ill be ready to play this sucker in eye blistering 3D!!!!!!!!
even though 2 stores i went to refused to sell me 3D tech, because it apparently rots your optic nerve if used for too long.
meh, what does not kill me can only make me stronger!
if i avoided everything bad for my health, well than life would not be worth living!
my granfather said one thing to me ages ago, life hard, die young, but enjoy your life.
lifes too short to miss things because there “bad for you.”
well may i ask what is not?
everything thats fun is bad for you, so i say to hell with whats unhealthy do whatever the hell you feel like!

I’ll get it after a while. Just not right away. If they had released it in 2010 I’d have gotten it day 1 probably. I just see my self being addicted to Killzone 3 for the first couple months post release.

50 bucks says this will blow KZ3 out of the water!
everything on crysis 2 looks better, not only the graphics!
the gameplay looks better, its more open, you can take battles indoors instead of outdoors, you can take battles basically where ever you want!
KZ3 is from what ive seen still extremely linear, its what i call a corridor shooter its just one lane left or right no open space.
i really hope im wrong about that, but what they showed at E3 only confirmed that!
the AI in crysis 2 is the best AI i have ever seen!!!!!!
if crytek know how to do anything its AI!
the enemies in crysis 2 react to which gun you have equipped!
so if you have a pistol and enemies have machine guns, enemies will storm you.
if you have a shotgun and they have a pistol they will keep their distance.
if you have a rocket launcher they will rush up and stay as close as possible because they know you wont fire otherwise you will blow yourself up!

the AI in crysis 2 also detects when there in your sights and tries to get out of the way by rolling or whatever.
NO game has ever had those 2 features in them, both of those are a first!
so thats why among many others why crysis 2 will take KZ3 to school!

Lol. Nick I’ll put $10 on that $50 you’ll owe me and use it to purchase Crysis 2. Killzone 3 is more open than you think. I saw the E3 demo (Sony’s presser) as well. Later I saw the same level being played differently. And on episode 26 of Qore, the developers explained how open the game will be: huge environments to explore that vary in location, from alien jungles, nuclear wastelands, to space. As far as gameplay I’m already impressed by what I’m seeing: just to name one-Improved melee attacks that dynamically change based on your location. For example if you’re near a wall you’ll be able to grab the enemy and smash his face in said wall. Not to mention graphics. I mean we’re only being shown pre alpha code and I’m already amazed. Just imagine how the final code will look. That being said, I know Crysis 2 will be a good game. It just does’nt Impress me as much as Killzone 3. And all that talk from crytek about it setting the graphical benchmark on consoles? Im even more dissapointed. Guess they saw Killzone 3′s pre alpha code and decided they need more time. Remember the game’s release date was even pushed forward at one point. So just do the math.

Lol. Nick notice my comment is almost as long as yours.

To be honest, I’ve yet to see what Crytek is talking about concerning Crysis 2 being the best looking console game.

Crysis should beat the heck out of Killzone 3, because if it doesn’t, Crytek will have to ease up on the big words.

o, it will gameplay wise and AI wise.
graphics wise im not so sure, it will look better than KZ3 and thats saying allot since its MP.
so much for the 360 is not capable of KZ2 graphics ay?
the gameplay from what i have seen is just much more varied.
the video they showed at E3 had such a small room, and a balcony at the end.
so how many ways can you attak your enemies?
its more or less a corridoor, you just sit in front of them, take cover, pop and shoot.
    BORING!!!!!!!!!
thats what i like about crysis 2 its massive, you can walk around your enemies, sneak into another room so they cant see you and emerge behind them and blow their head off!
from what i have seen KZ3 wont let you do that because its so confined and linear.
they say the environments are much more open from KZ2 but they say lots of things!
crysis 2 looks like K&L2, K&L2s levels are so open, your in a building and you can literally go into different rooms, above enemies and sometimes below them.
its so open, it encourages you to flank your enemies, because if you sit in front of them behind cover they will rush up in numbers and kill you!
you more or less have to work your way around them to survive!
thats the best thing i can say about it though, finished it this morning and only took me 5 hours from start to finish!
id give it a 6.8 because its buggy, boring, and has lots of hit detection issues!
    :(

i dunno, theres much we have not seen so i guess only time will tell.
but so far from what ive seen crysis 2 is looking much better than KZ3.

I realize that there will be much debate on Games Thirst about KZ3 and Crysis 2.

  13. ExclusivesMostly August 16, 2010 at 10:11 am -

Yeah, we’ll just have to agree to disagree until we see more.

  14. Ernice Gilbert August 16, 2010 at 12:33 pm -

Yep, that’s the best thing to do…
