Bungie’s Now Focused On Groundbreaking New Game Confirms Activision

It’s done, then. Bungie’s Halo swan song is complete. The developer recently said that Halo: Reach, the game that will be released worldwide on September 14th is finished and ready to for gamers to enjoy.

So what’s next? Groundbreaking work on new project, confirms the studio’s new partner, Activision.

Speaking in its recent Q1 earnings call, Activision’s COO Thomas Tippl said that most of the developer’s staff is now working on the new IP.

“Our partnership with Bungie is an extraordinary addition to our franchise portfolio and a perfect example of the thoughtful approach we take to use our shareholders’ capital,” Tippl said.

Bungie’s in development on a groundbreaking new game universe, which also aligns well against the growth in online gaming. And today, we are happy to report that the majority of the Bungie team is settling to its new space and is now focused on new crafting their new universe.

The new universe will be a substantial addition to our portfolio and an opportunity that should drive Activision’s growth well into the next decade.”

Looking forward to it for sure. Bungie’s released nothing but awesome games, so we should all rest in confidence that the developer will continue its tradition of perfection.

    im interested to see what it will be.
    i hope its not a shooter though, we have way too many of them!
    hopefully its a story driven game, something deep like assassins creed.

    id love to see them to a crime detective game like heavy rain or condemned 2.
    or even a physiological thriller like alan wake.
    there far too talented, to stick too one genre they need too expand and develop their skills!
