Across PAL, Asia and US territories, Sony has announced that its minis have been downloaded over 1 million times by users. Very impressive numbers indeed.
The program was launched in October of 2009 for PS3 and PSP, and now there are more than 85 titles from over 50 developers, with more incoming.
“We’re always looking for exciting and unique content to offer our audiences and minis offer exactly that,” SCEE VP of publisher and developer relations, Zeno Colaco said.
“We’re proud to have achieved over a million downloads in less than a year and with new developers coming on board every day, bringing with them incredibly fun and creative games, we look forward to establishing minis as a fans favourite amongst the PlayStation community.”
There haven’t been an overwhelming amount of Minis that I would consider great on the service, but you can’t go against numbers can you? Here’s to hoping Sony continues to release extraordinary work.

ive never really enjoyed minis, or PSN games.
developers need to stop trying to make games like retail games, downloadable games are not suited to that!
PSN and minis should be games like 2D platformers, or side scrollers, or kart racing.
arcade games, thinks like that, things like joe danger and earthworm jim or shadow complex!
we really need more 2D styled platformers i really miss those styled games!
shadow complex is one of my favorite games on the 360! dont really like the story mode that much, its ok but nothing special!
the part i really enjoy is the experimental weapons mode!
Minis was a great idea, still is! Sony just needs to improve the service that’s all.
there releasing the wrong style of game though, there releasing small versions of retail games no one wants that!
what they should be releasing is games like shadow complex, old classic 2D platformers or side scrolling shooters!
there the style of game suited for PSN, not games like COD classic.
