Helghast Will Have Some “Humanity” Says Guerrilla

If you’ve ever played Killzone 2, you’ll know that your opponents, the Helghast, were some seriously dudes. They had no humanity in them. It seemed as if the only thing they knew to do was shoot.

Well all that’s about to change, as the game’s developer, Guerrilla Games, has that in Killzone 3, the Helghast will have some “humanity”.

“In Killzone 3, we show that even the Helghast have some humanity left in them,” studio boss Herman Hulst said. “We’re weaving a story that has more shades of gray than the trite representation of ‘good vs. evil.’”

As for the Helghast, they consider themselves to be superior to humans in terms of society and culture. Remember the Nazis and how anyone who was not part of the Aryan blood was deemed lesser? Yeah, something like that.

“Although the Helghast are physically still human, they consider themselves superior to the human race in terms of society and culture.

They possess a mentality that’s similar to how the Nazis viewed those not part of the Aryan bloodline. Helghast look down on humans as weak, lying, and spineless.”

But the PS3 exclusive in February 2011. It’s getting more interesting as the days go by folks. Another big hit for PS3 next year.

Thanks, Gamepro.

i really hope they delve into the story, explain who the higs are, why were fighting them, why we kicked them off vetka, why they chose helghan as there new planet.
stuff like that, the origin of killzone if you will.
thats one thing i hated about KZ2, it was repetitive and boring but even worse it had no story.
    who are these people?
why are we at war with them?
stop asking questions soldier, and go do what your told!

Good points, sometimes the fighting in K2 seemed mundane and worthless, no story… to back up you efforts

yeah, it just seemed blowing stuff up for the sake of it!
you need a reason why your risking your life, and killing people.
i really hope they pick up right where KZ2 left off, with sev and co on the steps of visaris pallace with the ships coming in.
i really want to see how they get out of that!
3 men Vs hundreds of higs ships!!!!!!!
if sev gets out of that, the first thing he needs to do once hes home is buy a lottery ticket!
