At E3 2009, Sony announced at its presser, that Square-Enix’s MMORPG, Final Fantasy XIV, would be available only on the PS3, and PC of course, but later, rumors started surfacing that the game would also finds its way onto the Xbox 360.
We’ve now learned through an interview with 4players, as translated by Final Fantasy Union, that if it was up to the RPG veteran, the game would also be available on the Xbox 360, and that it’s actually Microsoft who passed on the idea.
This according to the game’s director, Hiromichi Tanaka.
Apparently, Final Fantasy XI only made it on Xbox Live because according to Microsoft the service was in its infancy stages, but now that it’s a venerable online hub, Microsoft apparently won’t be needing the latest game.
That’s very interesting, especially since SE has been so close to MS, even sending the once PS3 exclusive, Final Fantasy XIII multiplatform. But then again, we all knew money spoke there. We’ll see how this affects Final Fantasy Versus XIII exclusivity, and future SE, MS relations.

its not on the 360 because M$ requires full power over online games thats why.
that is why there are very few MMOs on the 360, developers want to be in control of their game, but M$ wont allow that!
I wonder if FFVSXIII will show up on that box? hmm
knowing M$ and $E ill be surprised if it does not!
