By now, inFamous 2 has become one of PS3 owners most anticipated games of 2011. In fact, I’d go as far as to say the game’s now giving even Killzone 3 competition for the top spot amongst PS3 exclusives. The game’s main character, Cole, has seen a radical change, along with story and overall feel. The graphics are also very much improved, with the Sucker Punch team taking cues from the legends, Naughty Dog.
So, are those reasons the answer to Sucker Punch’s stance? Claiming that inFamous 2′s only possible on PS3?
“In technical terms, the biggest thing that we’ve done is migrate a much larger part of our code to run on the SPUs,” Chris Zimmerman, Sucker Punch boss said to NowGamer.
Because of this, he believes the only console that could handle the game is the PS3.
“If you look at games like Uncharted 2 that’s a game that you actually can’t do on Xbox no matter how clever you are, there’s just more processing power on the PS3. inFamous 2 is going to be the same way. You’ll look at it and see that there’s no way we could have done this game on 360.”
Well, I guess, we’ll never know for sure. Games like Gears of War 3 are mighty impressive if you ask me. What’s your take?
I’m not a developer so who I’m to disagree. I must say that nothing I’ve seen on the 360 (including Gears) even comes close to Uncharted 2. And that’s their target so it may very well be as they say.

if crytek can get crysis 2 running on the 360 in 3D which is suppose to be impossiable, if ID can get RAGE working on the 360 which is the best looking game ive ever seen! working on the 360 than infamous 2 would have no troubles working on the 360.

i dont hear epic saying gears 3 could not be done on the ps3, or remedy saying alan wake cant be done on the ps3.
