Sony’s changing its strategy. In the past, I used to think that the giant would want to release the PS4 around the same time Microsoft releases its next Xbox. I was dead wrong, apparently.
This according to Sony’s Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida, who told industry Magazine, Develop, that the PS3 has a “longer life cycle” that Wii and Xbox 360, and that the industry should pay attention to those two game console manufacturers instead.
“Naturally, in my opinion, Microsoft will make the first move. Or, because Nintendo’s approach was not to upgrade much on its basic hardware – Wii doesn’t even support HD resolution – so they might be the first to move,” Yoshida told the Mag when asked why Sony hadn’t discussed the PS4 publicly as yet.
“Probably we should watch these companies, in my opinion. Because PS3 was later than Xbox, and is more powerful, so it has a longer lifespan.”
So don’t look for PS4 anytime soon guys. It’s not coming.
