The gaming industry saw a revolution when Microsoft totally changed the game with its online service dubbed Xbox Live. We’d never seen anything like it before, and now, all the other companies are following in its footsteps.
The most notable, though, is Sony and its new online service dubbed PSN, and now the hardware giant is following Microsoft even closer with PlayStation Plus.
The new system will work just like Xbox Live Gold, where subscribers pay an extra fee for all sorts of exclusive content. When something is good, say it’s good. Xbox Live isn’t only good, it’s great. You know it when others follow.
The leader’s service is not slowing down, though, with the NPD reporting that for three straight months, Xbox Live has witnessed growth.
“For the third consecutive month, the top-selling accessory item for the month is the Xbox Live 1600 point card. Video game points and subscriptions cards unit sales are up 12% on a year-to-date basis as compared to the same time period in 2009,” the NPD’s David Riley wrote.
It’ll be interesting to see how Sony’s PlayStation Plus performs.

XBL does so well because the variety of games available on it.
especially the classics, i mean XBLA is getting duke nukem Manhattan which was a old PC exclusive.
PSN gets very few classic games, the only classic games the PSN gets is ps1 classics and it does not have any where near enough of them!
plus the really weird games like dishwasher or shadow complex.
PSN really has nothing like those.
Yeah, Microsoft is really upping their game.
thats why XBLA will always be better than PSN.
M$ are willing to pay for things that sony wont.
if i had unlimited download usage, and unlimited funds i could waste 50GBs on downloading XBLA titles.
PSN id be lucky if i hit 10.
Well you never know. People thought Sony would always rule the gaming space, but look what happened
lol, yeah thats true allot can change in the blink of a eye.
ill be extremly shocked though if sony decide to start coughing up some money so they can get old classics on there.
XBLA is getting duke nukem Manhattan project soon, a once PC exclusive.
thats why XBLA is so much better than PSN, because M$ are willing to spend some cash bringing titles over.
