You’ve been dreaming of a PSP2 reveal for umpteen years now, the current 3000 and PSPgo just won’t do it. And although Sony’s been vehemently denying rumors that it’s building the new handheld, the evidence of it keep popping up in all the right places.
This time, a financial briefing from a major Japanese retailer has listed the PSP-4000, an as of yet unannounced model for the handheld. According to the listing, the new model would release by the end of this year.
What’s also important to note is that Nintendo’s 3DS was listed on there for a December 2010 release. Rumors have been running wild claiming Nintendo plans on releasing its latest handheld at the end of the year, however Nintendo of America’s Reggie Fils-Aime killed the rumors on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, saying the 3DS would come on the market “next year”.
Thanks, Siliconera.

i seriously doubt a new PSP will be released this year.
but if it was sony really need to up the anty and support the frigging thing unlike they have been doing with the PSP!
the PSP has less must have titles on it than the frigging 360 for gods sake!
the only PSP games i would call must have titles are GOW CoO, syphon filter broken mirror, and syphon filter logans shadow.
3 games, 3 games to show for how many years after release?
thats why i traded in my psp for a wii, because theres no games releasing for it.
besides GOW ghost of sparta, which ill borrow a friends PSP for.
Yeah, I’m sure they’ll put more support behind it next time around.
i certainly hope so!
if there going to release a new PSP it has to be crazy powerful, id say to give us graphics between ps3 and ps2.
it MUST have a upscaler so when i hook it up to my TV it upscales the image to 720P and fits the screen.
thats the worst part about the current PSP, when you hook it up to the TV you get this tiny screen!
whats the point of playing a psp game on your TV if your going to get a tiny screen?
add a second nub, wifi support, MUST have a media drive.
if its download only than its going to sink faster than the titanic!
but i seriously doubt sony are stupid enough to do that, i think they learned that lesson with the psp go.
