The biggest surprise at this past E3 was Gabe Newell, former PS3 hater, coming to Sony’s presser and announcing Portal 2 for the PS3. Now two new videos have surfaced giving a short explanation of the title’s gameplay and story.
In the first quencher, your character apparently meets up with a personality sphere, who tries to help you escape your ordeal. But sadly, he isn’t the most intelligent sphere around so instead of helping you get away, he awakes Glados from her sleep.
The second quencher zooms in more on gameplay, with the developer explaining features such as the tractor beams, which you can send through portals to help you solve puzzles – the Aerial Faith Plate, which you can also use to teleport objects or yourelf through the world; and also the Thermal Discouragement Beam, which can be used to solve problems and fire at enemies.
Quench it. Portal 2 will be made available for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in 2011.
