At E3 2010, Nintendo was the winner hands down. Nothing the two other companies demonstrated, not Kinect nor Move as able to stand toe-to-toe with Nintendo’s grand reveal of its new handheld, 3DS.
Yes, Microsoft’s surprised folks by revealing Kingdom, a title being developed by Crytek as an Xbox 360 exclusive, and Sony brought the hose down when Gabe Newell appeared at its presser. But they all paled in comparison to what Nitendo had to offer. Big games and even bigger technology were on hand at the legendary company’s conference.
Donkey Kong Country Returns is my personal favorite, then you had titles like Kirby, Metroid: Other M, the New Zelda Wii, Golden Eye Wii and more. Pure awesomeness I reckon.
Perhaps there’s nothing neither Sony nor Microsoft can do that would stall Nintendo’s momentum in the software department. But Sony has a chance to steal some thunder from them by releasing a handheld that does exactly what 3DS can.
I’m talking about a new PSP that renders in 3D just like the 3DS. They could even name it PSP3D. Make it more powerful, and get the backing of even more publishers than the amount Nintendo’s 3DS has. Create both hardcore and casual experiences and beat Nintendo at its own game!
Who cares what people say? Every company has copied another in the past, and since Sony followed Nintendo by releasing Move, I see no reason why the giant shouldn’t follow along, only this time sooner, by releasing a PSP3D.
They should announce it at TGS, and release it just before Nintendo releases in March of next year. Also, Sony should not sell the new PSP3D for more than $199, that way the competition would be on par. Go ahead and make it even better, with more features than the 3DS, more attractive and more stable.
More stable because there have been reports claiming that if you just tilt the 3DS to any side, just a bit, the screen becomes blurry, hence the visual becomes fuzzy. PSP3D should be stable no matter how many times it’s tilted to the left, right, backward, forward or all over the place. When that is accomplished, make a commercial highlighting the drastic differences between the two 3D handhelds, and make Nintendo’s look pretty silly. Competition is never fair, it’s a war that’s being raged and by all means necessary, one party must win.
If Sony wants to be the victor, or at least strike back hard at Nintendo, the aforementioned tactics should be employed. Only then will the hardware giant have a fighting chance against the Nintendo jauggernut.
Take my humble advise Sony, you’ll win if you do.

not a psp 3D as such but a PSP 2 would be nice.
have it as a mini ps3, im talking mini version of the cell processor, mini RSX, 8GB DDR3 RAM, inbuilt 280GB SSD, full HD screen 3D compatiable LED backlight and touchscreen, HDMI port and upscaler so i can play my psp2 games on my TV full screen, and full backwards compatibility with PSP, ps1 and ps2 games.
thats what i want, but that wont happen for a long long time because it would cost a pritty penny and a half!
Yeah, too much tech advances that cost serious dollar in there. Hah
