Sony Upgrades PSN With 3D Support

3D is beginning its rain on consoles with Sony announcing that its making available for the first time games in 3D. They included WipEout HD, SuperStardustHD, PAIN, plus a single level demo of MotorStorm: Pacific Rift tomorrow, June 10th. All this was made possible by the recent PSN update that occurred today with 3D support.

If you decide on purchasing the Sony Bravia 3D TV, then you’ll get the games for free. Without the package they’ll set you back $29.99/€29.99/£23.99.

* WipEout HD in 3D does not include the Fury DLC,

* PAIN includes two new modes created specifically for 3D called Alien Toss and Ice Blocks which is free with the TV pack, or individually for €2.99.

* SuperStardust HD in 3D promises to “transport you into a spectacular space setting”

* MotorStorm 3D Pacific Rift Demo includes the single player race around the Kanaloa Bay

“PlayStation has always been about outstanding entertainment,” said SCEE president Andrew House. “The stereoscopic 3D Collection showcases the depth of technology behind PS3 and gives us a feel for the potential for future releases.

“Stereoscopic 3D technology coupled with the likes of PlayStation Move motion controller allows us to create an ever more compelling, realistic and immersive experience. Add to that our online capabilities, community interaction features, our film and music services and you’ve got a very exciting proposition for the future of home entertainment.”

Those who already own the games can upgrade their games to stereoscopic 3D via a free patch.

Good times.

ive heard there releasing a pack at E3 so you dont need a new 3D TV to play your games in 3D you just need a HD set.
i seriously doubt its true, because than it would seriously hurt their TV sales.
but i really hope it is!
i REALLY!!!!!! want to get a 3D TV but fook me there expensive!
    4000 for a 46 inch and a cool 5K if you want a 56 inch!
    4K for a freaking TV?
i can buy a bloody car for that price!!!!!!!

yeah same mines 3 years old its not even full HD.
my main problem besides price is apparently the smallest 3D TV any manufacture is planing to make is 46 inch.
now ive got a 32 inch and it barley fits on my stand because i have speakers and such there.
theres no way a 46 inch is going to fit!
