Uncharted 2′s “Awesomeness” Place “Pressure” On Hollywood To Deliver

by Ernice Gilbert on June 7th, 2010, under Naughty Dog, News

Is there a game better than Uncharted 2: Among Thieves? Many will argue yes and others will lash out with a resounding no. It is however, one of the better titles ever created, and that’s something we who’ve played the game can agree to.

There’s no way such an awesome game could have escape from Hollywood’s claws, especially with its captivation narrative and a wealth of stories that could derive from it.

So Hollywood has gotten its hands on the Uncharted franchise, but since the second game was released, film producer Ari Arad, the man responsible for making the Uncharted flick, has been feeling the “pressure”.

“We’re still hard at work on the script for the Uncharted movie,” Arad told Gamepro Magazine, “actually Naughty Dog threw the gauntlet down by making the second video game in the series, Among Thieves, such a masterpiece.”

“Now, we’re not only feeling tremendous pressure to get the movie made, but it now has to live up to the awesomeness of Uncharted 2, which truly raise the bar for the franchise.”

He continued: “You just don’t want to start filming a movie like this until everything is right.”

I for one am hoping Ari Arad and his team surprise us all and make a great movie, especially if he expects it to become a “movie franchise”.

What do you think? Will Hollywood deliver this time, or will it be another game-turn-movie flop? Share your thoughts.

when you make a game based of a movie you can improve upon the story, cinematics, dialog, lengh, presentation and add gameplay to it

when you make a movie of a game, you can alter some aspects but improve litle or nothing

probably the best game based movie is tomb raider, and we all know how badd that one sucks

ucharted2 is one of the best if not the best videogame ewer made
making a decent movie based of the uncharted series is hard enough
living up to the expectations of one of the best games of all time, a far-feched dream

there are a million games better than uncharted 2.
as far as im concerned crash bandicoot the first game is by far the best video game ever released.
i heard ND won back the rights to the game a while ago and are working on a new game to the series.
but i seriously doubt that :(
i would go mental if sony announced that at E3 though it would make me so happy.

Yeah me too, I enjoyed those titles so much. It’s really sad Crash hasn’t made an appearance in HD.

Welcome to GT Reigen, I totally understand and agree with you there, but you never know my friend. They might just surprise us all. And that’s what I”m hoping for.
