Apple: We Lost The Platforms War To Microsoft

Since the Dinosaurs era there’s been fierce rivalry between long time competitors, Microsoft and Apple. History has taught us a big lesson about the platform wars and how they’ve evolved during the years. In a recent interview with “All Things Digital”, Steve Jobs, Co-Founder of Apple, discussed his point of view on this so called “Platforms War”. Journalist Walter S. Mossberg asked Jobs if he though that Apple was a player against Micrososft and new comers like Google and Facebook , Jobs replied:

No and I never have, We never saw ourselves in a platform war with Microsoft. Maybe that’s why we lost. We always saw  ourselves trying to build the best computers we knew how to build for people and that’s always what we were trying to do

Apples is doing magnificent these days even though they’ve “lost” the platforms war years ago against Microsoft. There’s always tomorrow and that’s the motto Apple applied to their business model, and today it leads the way with innovation and a brighter future than ever before. What do you think of Steve Job’s comments? Is Apple loosing the battle today or catching up fast? Tell us in the comment section.

i much prefer apple devices but the 2 biggest problems with them are price and customization.
1 price well let me put it this way my laptops broken today i went looking for a new one. i saw several windows based machines intell I7 for roughly 1800 bucks.
ok, now look at a apple makbook pro the equivalent to those windows based lappys there OVER 2500 BUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!
why am i paying 700 bucks for the same equipment???
if they were better or faster than ok, but there more or less the same!!! ;)

    2 customization.
i got a new 3GS when they released and am very unhappy with it! why? simple!
my freaking 300 dollar LG could do more things than the Iphone!!!!!!!
my father just got a HTC magic the other day, and i literally shat myself when i saw how much it can do in comparison to the Iphone.
the iphone is just far too restrictive, you cant create your own ringtones, themes, customize your dashboard things standard smartphones can do easily.
apples are much easier to use no doubt there, BUT at what cost?
apples are just way to restrictive and way to expensive!!!
if im paying 800 bucks for a phone i want it to do EVERYTHING! and i want to be able to customize EVERYTHING! the iphone does not let me do that.
i can not believe people were lining up in the freezing cold at 1 in the morning to be the first in the country to own a ipad.
something tells me these people have a little too much time, and money on their hands!!!
