PS3 has been on a global sales rise ever since the slim version was released, Australia is no exception. According to Sony Australia, over 850,000 units have been sold in the region.
This announcement came together with the launch of a New Video delivery service in the region for PS3. President Michael Ephraim said the PS3′s on target to beat 1 million units by the end of 2010.
Although Sony’s riding high in Australia, both it and Microsoft lags behind Nintendo. The company has sold over 1.7 million Wiis in the region.
The PSPgo is a different, and sad story altogether. It’s sold roughly 20-25k since launch last October.
Ephraim told Gamespot AU “The handheld space is very crowded and we have to keep in mind that [the PSP Go] was the first device of its kind to launch without packaged goods.”
He pointed out however, that Sony would soon spice up PSPgo sales by releasing a console and ten free-games download bundle, along with other promotions.
