Some devs don’t have things easy at all. Ninja Theory, developer of PS3 exclusive Heavenly Sword, didn’t break even with the game.
“Heavenly Sword came out pretty early on the PS3, and we sold, I think, a million and a half copies, and that’s still not enough as an independent studio to break even,” Ninja Theory co-founder told CVG.
He also revealed that money was the reason they went multiplatform with their latest effort Enslaved, and that being limited to one platform is just unwise.
“It’s just that when so many people have Xbox – I mean over half the market or more has Xbox 360s – why limit yourself to one platform?”
So you see, even after a million and a half copies of a game have been sold, it’s not enough to break even, now you know how Epic Games feel.
