And why wouldn’t they? Bayonetta was a decent success sales-wise and received excellent reviews amongst the critics. A sequel would do even better than the original, they usually do and Mike Hayes, Sega’s President has said to CVG, that the company is dead set on a sequel.
“We want to get the core games right before anything else,†Hayes said. “We’ve got our shooter with AvP and our RPG with Alpha Protocol – we really want to make those into franchises.
“If you think about it, we can sequel-ise Bayonetta, AVP, Alpha Protocol and we can make a hit of something like Vanquish. Add that to Football Manager and Virtua Tennis – we actually have a broad portfolio.â€
Thus far, the game has sold 1.1 million copies since it released back in early January.
