Final Fantasy XIII Is Now the Fastest Selling In Franchise History In UK

Although Square-Enix failed to release any figures, the firm has just a while ago announced that Final Fantasy XIII has become the fastest selling in the Franchise in the UK. The top-notch RPG title was released last week and is already proving to be a sales behemoth for the publisher, although some reviewers thought it was rubbish; I strongly disagree.

The series altogether has shipped about 96 million units worldwide with the latest, Final Fantasy XIII shipping 5 million units.

Get it either on PS3 or Xbox 360.

Fastest selling title in the franchise history in the UK

London (19 March 2010) – Square Enix Europe are pleased to announce that FINAL FANTASY® XIII has become the fastest selling title in the FINAL FANTASY franchise history in the UK and also the fastest selling UK game of 2010 so far*.

The news comes on the heels of the announcement last week that the sell-in shipment of the game has exceeded the five million unit milestone worldwide. Cumulative global shipments of the FINAL FANTASY series have now reached 96 million units since the first game was launched over two decades ago.

The latest part in the multi-award winning FINAL FANTASY series was released on 9 March 2010 in the UK for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system as well as the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system by Microsoft.

“It’s great to see FINAL FANTASY XIII hitting the top of the UK charts and setting the pace as the fastest selling game of the year,” said Jon Brooke, UK Marketing Director. “With high profile TV spots playing out beyond Easter and branded buses still travelling the country I’m positive this title is only going to get bigger and bigger.”

The FINAL FANTASY series stands out thanks to its ongoing evolution. Only the best creative ideas, the best graphics standards and the best gameplay systems, which are available at the time when a new part in the series is developed, are included in the game. This tradition has been continued in FINAL FANTASY XIII.

FINAL FANTASY XIII is also the fastest and biggest selling console game in Germany in 2010 (source: Media Control GFK International) and the best selling console game in France in 2010 so far (source: GFK France).

Square – Enix deserve all the success they’re getting, the game is fantastic and anyone who doesn’t like it doesn’t have the right to call themselves an RPG fan.

Stupid reviewers with their hidden agendas can give low scores to Final Fantasy and underserving high scores to crap like Mass Effect until they’re blue in the face. The real votes aren’t cast on Metacritic, the real votes are cast with consumers wallets. Consumers buy good games, which is exactly the reason why real RPG’s like Pokemon and Final Fantasy enjoy the kinds of sales success that the garbage that comes out of western studio’s can only dream of.

Congratulations to Squre – Enix, here’s to JRPG’s once again proving their undisputed dominance in the hearts of the real gamers all over the world.
