It’s Crysis 2, once a PC exclusive Crytek, the game’s developer is now sharing the love with PS3 and Xbox 360. It’s also deemed as the best looking game on any platform, in fact nothing even comes close to the visuals rendered in the first game.
So will consoles be able to hold up? Of course says Crytek, telling PlayStation: The Official Magazine (April 2010 issue) that the game will look “beautiful” on PS3.
“These sexy Crysis 2 screenshots illustrates another tantalizing aspect: beautifully rendered light and shadowed effects,” the mag wrote. “Crytek promises the game will look incredible on PS3 – and if their PC legacy is any indication, they’ll deliver.”
I’m pretty sure it’ll look great on all platforms, but the PC version will stand head and shoulders above the rest…. of course.
Looks amazing but I won’t be surprised if it has downgraded graphics.

I’m not sold, sounds like more pointless hyperbole. The first Crysis was good for it’s time but it’s made to look like a GBC game if you compare it to Killzone 2 or Uncharted 2 and since all we’ve seen from Crysis 2 are “Bullshots” there’s nothing to say the second one will do any better.
If Crytek were really confident that they can match games like God Of War 3 or Heavy Rain visually then they’d have released gameplay footage by now. Seems to me they have something to hide since they’ve released nothing but airbrushed scans for the past few months.

While I agree with your comment, I hope you and I are wrong because what is the point of a scaleable engine if it’s not going to perform at its best on each platform. PC is always the graphical king given the fact you have the rig to handle it but the PS3 done right is a more powerful machine than the 360 and should scale accordingly. But I would put money on it that it wont.
You’re right artimus, let’s hope they [Crytek] don’t limit any of the systems, but instead utilize them to their respective potentials.
