Talk, we love it here. What’s a community without talkative people? Not much I reckon, boring, not lively, mundane.
Thank God we have countless takers here! Today we tackle game reviews, I’m working a piece that will delve deeper into the situation but let’s start it shall we?
Edge gave PS3 exclusive God of War III an 8/10 and Bayonetta a perfect 10/10. I’ve enjoyed them both, and I must say I vehemently disagree.
Are the bigger sites getting paid to give better reviews to certain games? Is it because they’re sponsored heavier by certain companies?
Let’s talk game reviews.
We’ll do it here. The Official Games Thirst talk lounge.

Well I do think it’s a good topic but whether sites like IGN and Edge get paid is up in smoke.
You see, their reviews, while mostly score ps3 games lower, they do sometimes score some of the games high.
Uncharted 1 and 2 are great examples. But one must wonder why God of War III scored an 8 from the site.
I’d like to hear the community’s thoghts on this one.
Btw, I realize we’re growing fast. I hope when Games Thirst gets “big” that we don’t start doing the same thing : )
We won’t change for the worst, but for the better newrule.
I remember gamespot got paid to give kane and lynch a high score. But instead someone gave it a crappy score and he was fired.
Yes Shadow I remember, was a terrible situation…
And just more evidence that shady business is a constant thing in the industry.
The bayonnetta reviews were dodgy in my opinion. The demo was average yet the game got amazing scores from nearly every site!
The Xbox 360 version got nice scores…. PS3’s scores were lower.
It did look and work better on 360, the port to PS3 was dodgy….
But still, the scores were so high, yet I thought the game itself was mediocre.
