Rumor Thirst: Bioware’s Star Wars: Old Republic Coming To PS3 And 360

Set 300 years after the events in Knights of the Old Republic (and featuring some familiar faces), Star Wars: The Old Republic will put players on either side of a massive war between the Republic and the Empire.

It’s a PC exclusive, but according to PlayStation: The Official Magazine, things might change soon.

In its March 2010 issue, and under a thread titled “MMOs of 2010″, the mag lets loose this:

“We’ve also heard rumors that console versions of Bioware’s next opus, Star Wars: The Old Republic, might emerge. Yes, please – we call the bounty hunter.

The mag also spoke of the possibility that Star Trek Online might be ported over to PS3, and a new MMO from the creator of Guild Wars possibly coming to Sony’s black behemoth.

“Then there’s the heavily rumored port of Star Trek Online – which blends on-foot combat with some tactical space battling and looks superb – and a newly announced zombie-apocalypse MMO from the creator of Guild Wars that could hit PS3.”

PS3 is starting to see an overload of Massively Multiplayer Online titles (MMOs), good news to fans of said genre. Keep them coming Sony.
