Ever since the mighty success of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and the success of its sequel, developers have been seeking ways to capitalize on the “new war” front.
EA has Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and now Ubisoft’s taking its popular Ghost Recon franchise down the same path.

The game will be available for PS3 and Xbox 360, the publisher also announced a totally different Ghost Recon for Nintendo today.
Technology evolves. Threats evolve. Yet war…is constant.

Hmmm, strange. Seems a lot like Crysis, with the invisible suit stuff.
Also, Modern Warfare wasn’t the first game set in modern times with modern weapons.
All of the Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six games that I know of, are set in current times.
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter was released back in early 2006, a year and a half before Modern Warfare. Rainbow Six Vegas was released in 2007 before Modern Warfare.
That’s true, but none did what Modern Warfare was able to accomplish.
For some reason Infinity’s effort captivated audiences, remember the Call of Duty franchise was going down, it was fading.
But then, Modern Warfare.
I know the Tom Clancy war games have waged modern war from long, way before Infinity’s own, it’ll be interesting though, to see the style of play.
