In two weeks, Gamers the world over will finally get a chance to experience Quantic Dream’s latest effort: Heavy Rain. Reviews have already begun trickling in, and now PlayStation: The Official Magazine has put out its verdict.
The mag gave Heavy Rain a perfect score (five stars) and in its summarization, said this:
“David Cage, the brilliant auteur who wrote and directed Heavy Rain, had said in interviews that Heavy Rain is not a game. We Beg to the differ,” the mag wrote.
“And not because we disagree that his latest creation stretches the boundaries of interactive entertainment. Heavy Rain is a game – if for no other reason – because we are proud to have this as a representation of our hobby, to claim it as ours and to call it one of our own.
“Yes, we often forgot that we were controlling various characters using our DualShock – and yet there we were, making choices, pushing buttons, directly moving narrative along with our efforts. And yes, we experienced a story delivered with more poise and maturity than we often get from our games. But we also saw some of the coolest gaming moments of this console generation.
“A white-knuckle highway car chase. An intense escape from a depraved torturer. A deadly maze that forced us to contort our fingers like a game of twister to mimic our character’s movements. These, along with all the subtler moments, all come together to remind us that no matter what, we’re still playing Heavy Rain and – despite the overwhelmingly dark story – enjoying immensely.”
PTOM concluded: “So make no mistake, Heavy Rain is indeed a game. But it is a game like none other.”
Big words. A must buy.

I can’t believe we are so close to the release date this game is huge and groundbreaking I loved the demo and can not wait to see the whole thing. I can hear the thunderclouds coming now the rain is going to fall heavy and fast.
