This is interesting, Miyamoto has once again confirmed that Nintendo is working on new hardware. What could it be?
It was at the Annual Japan Media Arts Festival this past Saturday, he divulged the info.
This is after it was rumored that come GDC, Nintendo will reveal new Hardware. Could it be the much talked about Wii HD? Wii 2 perhaps?
Either ways, speculation is in full force now and believe me on this one: where there’s smoke, there’s always, always fire.
At the very same event, Miyamoto also revealed that he was working on a new title that’ll take full advantage of the WiiMotionPlus, however it’s not the new Zelda that’s under development for the Wii.

I can not wait to see what Nintendo has up their sleeve they have been killing this gen and I’m sure this new hardware will continue that stance. I can’t wait for a wii HD it is way overdue and from what I’ve heard they said HD alone will not cause them to release new hardware so I’m juiced to see what else is coming to the Wii
Wii2, WiiHD, Wii+, whatever the name, I believe 100% it’s coming, probably in 2011 though. I do think it’ll be confirmed around GDC, though I believe it’s already been confirmed without full acknowledgement, when HVS announced The Grinder is going multi-platform in 2011.
I really don’t think it’ll be much more than a graphics upgrade, better online, and WM+ built into the controller.
Definitely excited to see what is next for Nintendo. I have to admit that I haven’t bought a Wii game in a very long time and that I rarely play it – I keep reminding myself that I need to start playing again. I have a feeling they may do something that really surprises everyone, because Wii HD is expected.
