Turn 10: GT5 Will be A Good Racing Game

by Ernice Gilbert on February 3rd, 2010, under Polyphony Digital

It’s been a back and fourth amongst PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers for a very long time: Which is better, Forza or GT and although there are obvious biases from both sides of the fence, it’s safe to say that both series are awesome.

Turn 10 has said some tough things in the past, but in a recent interview with VG247, Forza Motorsport 3 game director, Dan Greenawalt, uttered very kind words..

After being asked how closely he’s watching GT5′s development process and whether he’d play the game when it finally comes out, Greenawalt responded:

“I think all good game developers look at what their competitors are doing. It’s important to understand the landscape; not only to see what’s being done, but to see what’s not being done,” he told the website. “As Game Director for Forza Motorsport, what I’m really interested in seeing and defining is the next big shift in how gamers (and even non-gamers) will play and interact with each other and express their passion for cars. For us, player generated content and social media are the modern ways to connect people and their passion for cars.”

He added: “That is why we’ve stressed those features for so many years. As a racing gamer, I’ve been a long-time fan of the GT series. At this point, after so many missed releases, it’s nearly impossible to say what GT5 will be or when it will ship. Based on the all the preview versions over the last several years, it looks like it will be a good racing game.”

Nice things to say don’t you think? We have nothing concrete pertaining to a GT5 release, however we can expect the game some time this year? whenever it comes out though, expect only greatness.

Very nice words indeed, and such competition is what helps all gamers benefit with great games being made. I played the GT5 Time Challenge and thought the driving experience was excellent, and I can’t wait for the full game.

Man I can not wait for GT5 and I’m hearing the Nascar brand will be included in this since EA dropped the license and I know of many people who have been waiting for a Nascar game for couple years now. Plus all the other modes and car classes this game is going to have an insane amount of content. can’t wait to see this drop.
