Rumor: Devs Already Working On New Nintendo Platform

I’ve said this many a times and now we’re inching closer and closer towards Nintendo’s next big reveal: a new console.

Sources close to videogamer said today that developers are already working on a new Nintendo Platform before a feasible GDC announcement.

“Just heard a rumor that you may be interested in, Nintendo are going to announce a new platform,” an employee at a major international publisher told the website.

No further details were given concerning if it was a new handheld or console (I’m leaning towards WiiHD, although that might not be its name) or whether Nintendo would actually announce the thing at GDC.

We’ll have to wait and see then.

This is very exciting news I can not wait to see what Nintendo is cooking up for us. Nintendo has been saying adding just HD to the wii would not warrant a new launch so they are bringing HD and more and it’s the more part I’m so excited about. Nintendo has been in the business forever and has some great gaming minds working on this so I’m sure whatever they add will amplify the fun factor of the wii and we will be rushing to stores once it drops.

I wonder if this will simply be WiiHD with WM+ built into the controllers.

WM+ has been in controllers for at least 6 months now, but Nintendo isn’t selling the controllers with it built directly in.

Makes me wonder why. Also, they haven’t really said anything else about the Wii Vitality Sensor, they could release WiiHD the Wii Vitality Sensor, and a demoed game Wii Relax, kind of like Wii Sports was originally.

I don’t know, it’s going to be interesting for sure to see what they announce, and then the reaction to it.
