According to Sony’s Peter Dille, the company is “actively thinking” about charging customers for its PSN service. Sony also plans to make fewer titles available via download only, all in a effort to help retail outlets.
“It’s been a philosophy not to charge for PSN from launch up until now, but Kas recently went on the record as saying there’s something we’re looking at,” Dille said. “I can confirm that as well. That’s something we’re actively thinking about.”
As for going all digital, Sony said that’s not its focus right now, citing broadband issues and a genuine desire to help retailers.
“We have an advantage with PlayStation 3 from an optical media perspective because a Blu-ray disc contains 50 gigs,” Dille said. “Maybe [digital distribution] will come at some time, but today to download 50 gigs of data before you play a game, you could probably go buy a car, bring it home, put your family into it, drive to the store buy and bring the game home by the time you [could download it].
“I think we’re on the forefront of digital distribution [and] we’re working very hard to evangelize it. I think we’ve got a hardware platform that continues to grow with people’s appetite in digital distribution. And we’ve got multiple units with hard-drive sizes up to 50 gigs.
“We’re also working very hard to make sure we do this thoughtfully so that retail has a part to participate in the ecosystem with us. But, the notion of getting all your games digitally, I just don’t see it happening.
“There’s games you’re going to get at the store, there’s games you’re going to get on PlayStation Network and there’s some you’ll get in both places, and then there’s also opportunity to enhance the micro-transactions and add-on content, of course, but getting God of War III digitally? That’s just not something you’ll be seeing anytime soon”.
Later on, Dille also said he believes that PS3 will eventually beat 360 in the console’s ten-year life cycle.

I don’t know personally I love how psn is free and saves gamers extra cash they can use to buy games or acessories and I hope going forward they still provide the free service but offer premium services for gamers who want extra perks. Come on Sony I know you are seeing the cash cow but don’t alienate the less endowed gamers please keep the basic service free.

I think I was five or six when the Atari jaguar dropped so sorry Ernice can’t remember that game cybermoth. I had an NES then a SNES then Sega Genesis at the time. Atari was just a little bit before my gaming age and I concur ah the old days of simple arcade games and how many you figure were set in space and had aliens compared to now there is rarely any space games being developed. I tried googling cybermoth and could’nt find anything and still trying to find game in image lol. Long live the old days of gaming gone they will always live on in our memories.

It was just a placeholder game Sony used to show off trophy feature system when they updated ps3. Man I would’ve been on this game like crazy can’t believe it was not real here is link for anybody who wants to see it.

Ah that’s messed up.. Good find though.. Well here’s to hoping they create some great cosmos experiences in the future!
I hope Ernice it is an awesome idea for a game and imagine if Nasa endorsed an astronaut space game for ps3 or xbox360 and used awesome HD graphics to display the universe and included facts and photos and videos of past missions it would be an awesome learning game for kids and fans of the cosmos. They could make it like an open world sandbox game where you go from planet to planet building bases and exploring planets for resources and signs of life and include many scientific facts and figures along the way. And if that gets boring for some people they could always add some aliens and a side plot where you have to fight off an alien civilization or a zombies in space side mission to break up the montony but for me to explore the universe in HD in a sandbox style game I would be in love and why hasn’t anybody thought of this yet.
