So you’re a hardcore gamer and nothing will change that; not even your wife. You’ve been married for sometime now and it seems because of your gaming habits things are about to go south. What should a gamer do? You love the lady but she wants you to give up on your games. It’s a tough call, one with no easy way out – that is except you can find a solution to get her into it.
It’s not a guarantee but it’s worth a short, after all losing you lady over games is just wrong. Never mention it while making love but after sex (that is if you can stay awake) slip this quote in:
“Hey honey, I know you’re not into gaming but – hold on, don’t respond yet darling. I bought a few games that I think will at least make you understand why I love this pass-time so much. We’re in bed now but say tomorrow, will you please give at least one of them a try?”
If she says yes, tell her about these five games:
5 – Tell her about Sega superstar Tennis (Xbox 360) – The next time you go to a tennis game or choose to watch it on television, look at the audience and notice what gender is the dominant one. Of course it’s the females who love that sport the most. Give your wife the chance to be a superstar in Sega Superstar Tennis for Xbox 360.
Let her play with favorite characters from games like Sonic the Hedgehog, Golden Axe, House of The Dead and Jet Grind Radio. If you’re familiar with Virtua Tennis from Sega, then you should be acquainted with this one in no time, being that it’s just a simplified version of it.
In Sega Superstar Tennis, players fill up a special star-shaped meter as they return shots, fire off servers and keep the motion rolling. Believe me when I tell you, after a couple of games together, you might just find yourself with a brand new wife!
4 – Mention Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo Wii) It’s one of the best selling titles of all time and that stands for something. With twelve new family-friendly mini-games and Nintendo’s new MotionPlus add-on, Get your wife this one, she’ll be glad you did. In Wii sports Resort, not only do you get Nintendo’s new technology, but also a chance to test your luck at Archery, Power Cruising, Bowling, Basketball, Golf, Canoeing, Frisbee, Wakeboarding, Table Tennis, Cycling and Swordplay.
A fun experience your wife will get into easily and before you know, she’ll be spending even more time playing than you. Many sports game to choose from but she’ll definitely enjoy some Swordplay and Archery:
Maybe it’s because she love karate movies, but mostly it’s just the feel of fighting without being hurt by her enemy. I believe it’s the latter. In Swordplay, you simply swing the remote like a sword, holding the B button to block in four directions. To attack you swing in the same directions. You could play two-player duels, a speed slicing contest and the mode which pits a player against an armada of enemy Mii as you find your way along the map. Swordplay is definitely the best game to play on the resort with your wife.
3 – Don’t forget to include Guitar Hero (PS3 & Xbox 360) Women love to sing, but not all can, that’s why we have professionals, but that’s not to say your lady can’t let loose in the living room hitting all the wrong notes and feel good about it. I say why not?
Set her free, make her feel like she’s the best at it, sing with her dance to her voice and at the end of the day, you would have made a believer out of your wife. I know what I’m talking about.
2 – You Must talk about Super Mario Bros. Wii (Nintendo Wii) If she’s in her 20s and up, there’s no way she has not experienced at least one Mario title. The mere mention of it will get her interested. See one of the reasons ladies tend to shun gaming so often is because they think all we guys do is shoot at other guys aimlessly online.
To most of them that’s a turn off of epic proportions and they’re just not interested. But if you could find a way to break that stigma, slowly but surely, your lady will be a gamer even more than you; any Mario game would help, but the new Wii title will do the best job
1 – LittleBigPlanet is your best shot and will surely convince your lady to play. Seriously, my own experience is the best story I can tell:
So, my wife was never into gaming like most of yours and like most of you, I’d use the wrong tactics to try and win her over. I remember when I convinced her to play Resistance 2, what the hec was wrong with me? Resistance 2!? Surely she got rushed by a Chimera and left the room screaming, promising herself never to play again. But then, I got LittleBigPlanet and all changed.
It’s a lengthy story so I’ll make it shot and sweet. We started playing the game as a team and overtime I’d be in bed, and my wife would still be playing in the wee hours of the morning. Liten to me, buy LittleBigPlanet and introduce the game to your wife, she’ll never bother you about gaming again. Ever.
At least one out of the five will more than likely win your lady over and into the entertainment form, but you must remember to do one last crucial thing, perhaps the most critical of all: You MUST let her win…..all the time.
Haha nice article. Interesting that LBP is number 1 because my best friend’s (recent) fiancé loves it – so good choice! I’ve told my “lady friend” about it will definitely pick it up in the near future. She loves scary horror movies – so I thought, “Nice now she can play Dead Space with me.” She think’s it’s ok (damnit) but mostly because the controls are difficult for her – which then scares the shiz out of me when she’s starring at the staring at the ceiling as she’s walking around a corner! Lol. And it was the same with Uncharted. She was happy that I at least tried. She still likes playing Guitar Hero which is always fun tho, so thats cool. You know that it could be something special though, when she understand that you video games are a passion of yours – as they are becoming a more accepted form of interactive entertainment. Now she reads while I game. Works well for the both of us

I agree with the list too from most of my experience with women playing games they like the arcade type games and certainly wii is big with women now too. LBP is definetly a hit because they can also show their creativity in designing the levels. I read somewhere that 50 percent of PSP owners are women too and handhelds seem big with women so a Nintendo DS and a PSP are definites too for your significant other. Keep these Editorials coming Ernice, I love to hear your opinions and humor.
